Synopsis retrieved from Goodreads.com MY THOUGHTS ON 365 DAYS OF HAPPINESS BY JACQUELINE PIRTLE I want to make note that I’ve only read 31 of the 365 days since I want to enjoy this as it’s meant to be read – as a daily guide. It’s become part of my morning routine, in addition to my coffee and journaling. Each guide is a single page, which makes it a quick exercise you can do in the morning, evening, on break or whenever works best for you. I prefer the mornings because it shifts my mindset to happiness for the rest of the day.  Visualization and Reflection As I mentioned earlier, the premise of 365 Days of Happiness is to target your mindset and work your happiness muscle. Pirtle accomplishes this through visualizing exercises and reflection questions. Many of the guides ask you to use your imagination or to focus on your senses. One of my favourite days was Day 6, when you imagine yourself as a bird free to fly wherever it wants. By imagining yourself as a bird, Pirtle is instilling in your mindset that you are free to do, feel and be whoever you want.  Another day that stood out to me was Day 31, when you imagine yourself at the top of a mountain shouting “I AM ALIVE”! Just visualizing these experiences, even though you’ve never done them, has a HUGE impact on your thinking, confidence and happiness.  It’s not all imagination based though. Many of the guides ask questions that cause you to reflect on your feelings and being. One such exercise that really stood out to me was Day 25. In this exercise you imagine yourself going through life at top speed until you notice a colourful bird. Pirtle begs the question, do you slow down your goals to marvel at this moment in time? Or, do you continue to focus on your goals and ignore the bird? The point she hopes you come to with reflection is that goals are important, but you need room in your life for spontaneity and happiness. Love it!   “High For Life” Energy Jacqueline Pirtle’s goal with each exercise is for you to find that “high for life” energy that she found in 2017. She describes it as being healthy (physically and mentally), experiencing clarity, everything seems to go right and life becoming magical.  You might have heard this being described in other publications as operating at a high frequency. What I like about Pirtle though is she doesn’t use the same language as all the other self-help writers. Her experience is her own and it reflects in her writing.  Light, Bubbly and Cheerful Just as her experience is reflected in her writing, her personality shines through as well. Jacqueline Pirtle’s voice in her step-by-step guide is light, bubbly and cheerful. She writes with an extremely positive vibe, which makes sense since she often explains how our attitudes rub off on other people around us. We’re all connected on different frequencies and Pirtle is at a high frequency.   MY RATING I gave 365 Days of Happiness 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. I love books focused on personal growth, mental health and self-help and was so happy to receive a complimentary copy of this book.
