Beginning February 1st, 2018, I began my 101 Things in 1001 Days challenge. Today marks 185 days since starting and six months since Caffeine and Conquer went live! It is also the first time that I have been mentioned by another blog! I will get into that in a second.
I’m writing this 101 in 1001 post differently than the previous months. In the past I stuck with a bullet point type post, however, I’m starting to think that might not be a good read. For this post, I’m writing it more as a discussion or article, rather than a list.
Let me know in the comments below if you prefer the old style and hated this or vice versa!
I modified the original list
My life has been going in another direction than it was back in February when the list was made. So, it only makes sense to modify it to reflect these new changes and make it fun again!
For example, instead of having the goal of attending a museum conference (which is no longer important to me), I hope to attend a blogging conference sometime in the near future.
Writing, connecting with other women and exploring different revenue streams through online marketing has literally taken over my life – and I seriously couldn’t be happier because…
I got mentioned by another blog!
One of the goals on the original 101 Things in 1001 Days list was to get mentioned by another blog.
I accomplished this with some collaboration and a bit of luck.
Last month I shared with you how I had gone from 173 to 450k monthly viewers on Pinterest. What you don’t know is that I put a ton of work and thought into that post.
I shared my views on the search engine platform but also wanted to include the opinions of other bloggers. Pinterest is a huge success for driving traffic and I wanted to show that I’m not an exception.
I reached out through different Facebook groups and received a bunch of great responses to include in my post. Most bloggers are happy to contribute when given credit because backlinks help with SEO. This is also a great way to build relationships with other bloggers in your niche, as they can become your advocates by promoting your content and services.
This was the case with Hilda Mwende, creator of Sprout Mentor, who I featured in my post. In her blog post, she kindly mentioned how I reached out through the group and backlinked to my website!
I say it was a combination of collaboration and luck because working with bloggers doesn’t guarantee they will share your content and reciprocate. I was so surprised and happy that Hilda shared my blog with her audience and I could cross this goal off my list!
I found my favourite blogging Podcast (and met the goal)!
If you have been following my other 101 Things in 1001 Days updates you know that I have been listening to blogging podcasts. I also made a goal of listening to ten personal development episodes.
I completed this goal in July but I am by no means finished listening!
Podcasts are something that I have found a little later than most people (come to think of it I am usually the last to jump on the wagon).
It’s not that I never heard of them before, I just couldn’t find a series that kept my interest for very long.
Ever since I started blogging though I have been a sponge for new information and strategies. One way I have been soaking up this information is by listening to podcasts run by other bloggers.
Lately, I have really been into Taylor Bradford’s series, Boss Girl Creative.
Taylor isn’t the peppiest Podcaster to listen to, at times her tone can be a bit dry, HOWEVER, her content is extremely informative and valuable!
She has a ton of episodes so I urge you to check them out if you’re an aspiring blogger!
Did you miss last month posts?
