How Much Does Pinterest Management Cost?

Thinking about hiring a Pinterest manager and wondering how much Pinterest management costs?

The answer depends on several factors, from the Pinterest manager’s experience to what’s included in their monthly package. In this post, I’ll break down what Pinterest managers charge, what affects their pricing, and what you should consider before hiring one.

How Much Does Pinterest Management Cost Per Month?

Pinterest management prices vary pretty widely between freelance Pinterest managers and agencies.

Depending on your needs, you can find Pinterest managers charging anywhere from $100 – $2500+ USD a month. However, you’ll typically pay between $450 – $1500 USD a month for most packages.

Low-priced Pinterest managers who offer very basic services, like scheduling images you already have without a deep strategy, usually advertise their services on marketplaces like Fiverr or Upwork for as little as $4/hour or $100 USD a month.

Most mid-range freelance Pinterest managers, including myself, are offering Pinterest management services somewhere between $450 – $900 USD per month.

Pinterest management agencies, like Simple Pin Media, who have larger teams and more services, have higher pricing structures often in the $1000 – $2000+ USD per month range.

What Affects The Cost Of Pinterest Management?

So why do some Pinterest managers charge a few hundred dollars a month while others charge thousands? It comes down to several factors, including their experience, business model, and the services included in their packages.

Experience & expertise

When I started my Pinterest management business in 2018 I landed my first client, a wedding dress designer in the Philippines, for just $50 USD per month.

Was it enough to sustain a business? Definitely not. Did it get my foot in the door? Absolutely! And I’ve been focused entirely on Pinterest management since!

As you compare Pinterest management prices from different Pinterest managers, their experience and expertise is part of that cost.

When you hire an experienced Pinterest manager like me, you’re also paying for that knowledge they’ve gained from managing client accounts, adapting to platform changes, and learning what works across different industries.

Location & Currency

Location can also influence a Pinterest manager’s pricing, especially when exchange rates and differences in the cost of living come into play.

I can speak to this myself. I’m based in Eastern Ontario, Canada, but I price my Pinterest management services in USD (unless the client is in Canada). The majority of my clients are located in the United States, so this allows me to offer a lower rate to clients while taking advantage of the currency conversion.

Freelance vs Agency Business Model

Freelance Pinterest managers tend to have lower overhead costs than agencies, which can make their monthly packages more affordable.

A freelance Pinterest manager is usually a solopreneur without a team. They take on the entire project, from research, pin design, scheduling, keyword research, reporting, troubleshooting, etc. Many freelancers offer flat monthly rates, making their services easier to budget for.

A Pinterest marketing agency has a higher operating cost and larger team. They’ll may have an account manager who oversees the account management, a designer who creates pins, an ads manager, and more. The benefit here is access to more specialties, which can benefit your business if you plan on scaling in the future.

Scope of Services

When considering how much Pinterest management costs, most people look at the scope of services or what the Pinterest manager has included in their monthly package.

A basic Pinterest management package might include scheduling pins that you’ve already designed, while a full-service package could include keyword research, custom pin design, content planning, board optimization, scheduling, and monthly reporting.

What’s Included in Pinterest Management?

There’s a lot that goes into Pinterest management beyond making pins in Canva or mass-publishing hundreds of low-value pins (I would never do that).

Pinterest managers DO spend a lot of time on your pin designs (it is a visual search platform after all), but it’s just one small piece of what you’re actually investing in.

Here are some examples of what’s included:

  • Strategy and SEO: Keyword research, seasonal trend research, and content planning.
  • Account optimization: Profile optimization, board management, and account audits.
  • Pin creation: Static pins, video pins, carousel pins, and keyword-optimized descriptions.
  • Publishing: Scheduling and distributing fresh content.
  • Analytics: Performance tracking, reporting, and ongoing strategy adjustments.
  • Technical management: Pinterest tag, catalogue integrations, or content protection services when included.

Now these are examples of some of the tasks Pinterest managers may include and execute as part of their management services.

However, there’s so much more going on beyond the deliverables you can’t see each month:

  • They’re publishing pins that have the potential to drive traffic to your website for months or even years.
  • They’re sharing your content to an audience with a stronger intent to take action or purchase than users on other social platforms.
  • They’re helping diversify your traffic sources so your business isn’t relying entirely on platforms like Google, Facebook, or Instagram.

Are There Additional Fees or Commitments to Consider?

Many of these will depend on the individual Pinterest manager or agency, however, these additional costs are common:

  • Some Pinterest managers include an additional fee during the first month for the initial account setup or optimization
  • You may be required to maintain a subscription to a Pinterest scheduling tool like Tailwind or Metricool.
  • If the Pinterest manager includes a pin quota with their management package, changes to this pin quota could result in additional costs
  • If you decide to run ads alongside an organic Pinterest strategy, this is usually a separate budget.
  • Some packages require a 3 or 6 month commitment, while others offer month to month agreements.
  • Additional strategy calls may be available for an extra fee

How To Compare Pinterest Management Packages

You’ve got a dozen tabs open comparing Pinterest management packages, but you’re feeling overwhelmed and wondering how you’re suppose to choose.

Here are the questions I would ask:

  • How many original pins (fresh pins) are included each month? If they don’t include a specific number that’s also not a bad thing!
  • Are keyword research and board optimization included or are they just creating pins and scheduling?
  • Is there a contract minimum? Is it flexible or a 6 month retainer?
  • If you’re ecommerce, do they have ads experience? Is it included or an add-on?
  • How do they measure performance?
  • What is their communication style? Does it match yours?
  • Who will actually be managing my account? Important if you’re working with an agency
  • What is expected of you each month? Will you have to provide graphics or other material?

How Much Do My Pinterest Management Services Cost?

My full-service Pinterest management package is $550 USD per month.

It’s designed for content creators and online businesses who want more traffic from Pinterest but they don’t want to worry about creating pins, researching keywords, or figuring out what to publish next.

Here’s what’s included in my monthly Pinterest management package:

  • Account audit + profile SEO optimization
  • Keyword research to identify the main keyword pillars your audience is using to search your content
  • Branded pin designs
  • Keyword-rich pin titles and descriptions
  • Content scheduling
  • Board management
  • Seasonal trends mapping
  • Content claiming portal management to help protect your original pins from being used by spam accounts
  • Monthly analytics reporting so you can see how your Pinterest account is performing
  • Direct email support
  • Quarterly strategy calls (optional)

I’ve been managing Pinterest accounts since 2018, working with businesses across different industries, including food, health and wellness, lifestyle, and ecommerce.

And one thing I’ve learned is that a set pin quota doesn’t translate into better results, which is why you don’t see a pins per month limit in my package! Instead, publishing volume is determined by the size of your content library, business goals, and strategy.

Is Hiring A Pinterest Manager Worth The Investment?

This will totally depend on your business, your goals, the content you have available, and what you’re hoping Pinterest will achieve for you.

If you’re regularly publishing content or selling products and services that people are actively searching for on Pinterest, hiring a Pinterest manager can be a worthwhile investment.

Especially if Pinterest is something you know you should be active on, but it keeps getting pushed to the bottom of your to-do list.

A Pinterest manager can take that work off your plate while bringing the experience, research, and strategy needed to give your content more opportunities to be discovered.

But Pinterest management isn’t the right investment for every business.

If you’re just starting out, don’t have much content to promote, or need immediate results, you might be better off waiting until your business is in a stronger position to invest in ongoing management.

Pinterest is a long-term marketing platform. It can take time to build momentum, and even with an experienced Pinterest manager, there are no guarantees of traffic or sales.

When budgeting for Pinterest management, I recommend thinking beyond the first month or two. Since Pinterest is a long-term marketing platform, it’s worth considering whether you can comfortably invest in several months of management while your strategy has time to gain traction.

For example, if you’re hiring a Pinterest manager charging $550 USD per month, a six-month investment would be $3,300 USD. That doesn’t mean you’ll need exactly six months to see results, but it helps to approach Pinterest management with a longer-term budget in mind.

If you have a monetized website, an established funnel, a growing library of content, and want to build another source of website traffic without managing Pinterest yourself, hiring a Pinterest manager could make a lot of sense for your business.
